Background

Tubulointerstitial Nephritis and Uveitis (TINU) Syndrome was initially described by Dobrin et al. in 1975 [1]. It is a rare disorder accounting for less than 2 % of all uveitis cases, but may underlie in 10 % of cases of acute bilateral anterior uveitis [2]. Typically, it includes an idiopathic acute-onset tubulointerstitial nephritis (AIN) and a bilateral non-granulomatous anterior uveitis in the absence of any other disease that can cause either manifestations [3], [4], [5]. We report a case of bilateral granulomatous uveitis leading to the diagnosis of biopsy-confirmed acute tubulointerstitial nephritis.
